Our 1.5-acre greenhouse sits at the center of Crown Valley, located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains near Sainte Genevieve, MO. We are surrounded by 10,000 acres that include a vineyard, a free-range cattle and bison farm, and beautiful native forests.
Supporting Crown Valley Organics means fostering the sustainable use of Missouri lands, and protecting our economy, communities and ecosystem. Simply put, organic means that we do not use treated or genetically modified seed, or synthetic chemicals.
Our plants are free of toxic herbicide and pesticide residue, and our production methods have a less negative impact on the environment. We use a holistic system of methods to control pests and diseases in our greenhouse. We release and provide habitat for beneficial insects such as preying mantis and lacewing larvae to control pests, and spray with natural oils when necessary. Instead of growth retardant chemicals, we use successive plantings, day and night time temperature (DIF) control, and pinching to mediate our transplant size.
We keep our plants healthy with good ventilation and airflow, and monitor them constantly for problems. We use a living potting soil, with symbiotic mychorrhizae to protect and strengthen root systems for transplanting. These and many other techniques allow us to cultivate strong, healthy, well-adapted plants without the use of harmful chemicals.
We hope you will join us in our mission to empower the local community with the ability to grow nutritious edibles, herbs, and medicinal plants that support health. We want to see school, kitchen, community, and backyard gardens thrive because we think this fosters self-sufficiency, good nutrition, environmental stewardship, and a responsible use of resources!
Thank you for your business!
